The Greenup County Health Department is accepting applications for a Full-Time
Contract Dental Assistant
General Duties include: Assist Dental Hygienist during school visits and Other Duties as assigned by appointing authority. Assist Hygienist during school visits throughout the secondary school academic year, disinfect and set-up patient station after each visit, provide follow-up per Hygienist direction, enter all patient encounters related to applicable services. Clerical management and general clerical duties and incoming call management. Enter the demographic information using EzEMRx, obtain Medicaid billing information from Ky Health Net and MCO websites, obtain prior authorizations from Third-Party Payers when needed, routing incoming calls, and provide general information to the public. Address remittances and follow thru with resubmissions and/or corrections: assist with pulling charts and collecting information needed to rebill claims based on the rejection reasons listed by the Third-Party payors. Make necessary changes to EzEMRx system. Submit requisitions for supplies. Work is primarily spent inside the clinic or in a community setting. May include a few outside events throughout the year.
Minimum Education, Training or Experience: High School Diploma or GED.
Special Requirements: Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Starting Salary: $20.00/hr.

Health Environmentalist II
General Duties include: Under general supervision of professional supervisory personnel, performs work of moderate to complex difficulty in the inspection of facilities, and the investigation and resolution of environmental complaints and nuisances. With considerable ability inspects and provides consultation to establishments or facilities for compliance with state regulations; reviews plans for new construction and modification of regulated facilities to ensure compliance with regulations and makes recommendations for approval or disapproval of plans; Reviews plans for on-site sewage systems for residences, institutions and other construction; responds to complaints regarding pollution, housing, insect or rodent infestation or other health related problems; attempts to solve problems through negotiation; initiates legal action if applicable or necessary; refers to appropriate health department personnel. May serve as resource person to health environmentalist/trainee or support staff. Working ability to identify regulatory infractions and recommend corrective actions.
Minimum Education, Training or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree from a college or university with a minor or twenty-four (24) semester hours in environmental health, biological or physical science or registration as a Kentucky Environmental Specialist/Sanitarian under KRS 223 and one (1) year of experience as a health environmentalist performing inspections.
Special Requirements: Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Note: an individual upon employment must become registered under the provisions of KRS 223 within six (6) months to remain a permanent employee per Administrative Regulations 902KAR 8:080.
Starting Salary: $22.81-$28.36/hr. negotiable with additional experience. Grade 19

The Greenup County Health Department is accepting applications for a Full-Time Contract Licensed Practical Nurse – Immunizations & WIC.
General Duties include: The work involves basic nursing functions and services to individuals and families under direct supervision in a clinic, school, or community setting. Core duties will revolve around Woman, Infant, Children (WIC) program, Vaccinations, and occasional off-site clinics as assigned, but not limited to these tasks. Assess clients to address the presenting initial reason for the visit and client’s willingness to the services. Conduct basic nursing assessment, as appropriate, to obtain and document relevant physical, social, behavioral, environmental, and lifestyle factors that influence health. Attain basic specimens, as directed. Record all findings and results in our electronic medical records system (ezEMRx). Describe all available services offered and refer as appropriate. Incorporate plan of care into the client’s medical record and periodically update based on follow-up visits and services provided. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education, Training or Experience: Graduate from a school of practical nursing, college, or community and/or technical college, which meet the requirement set by Kentucky State Law.
Special Requirements: (Age, Licensure, Regulation, Etc.) Must have current and active Kentucky Practical Nurse License or must have met all requirements of KRS 314.051, having received a provisional license and approval to practice as an LPNA.
Starting Salary: $18.00/hr.
