General Duties include: Provides high-level administrative support to the director, personnel, and finance departments. Managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and arranging travel. Answering calls/emails and taking notes during meetings. Preparing correspondence, reports, memos, and other documents. Conducting research and reviewing documents. Performs tasks relating to the administrative support requirements of the agency such as office management, purchasing, inventory control, creation and updating organizational policies and standards, and similar administrative responsibilities. Maintains knowledge of current policies, laws, trends and developments in the agency by reading appropriate policy notices/interpretations or related materials and attending training session. Assists with health department purchasing activities, coordinates major equipment purchases and service contracts, monitors the random drug and alcohol testing program, directs all maintenance activities for the health department’s buildings and grounds, manages routine administrative functions for the agency, and assists personnel and fiscal duties as well as other duties as assigned. Requires strong time management skills, good judgment, and excellent organizational and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of office software (Microsoft Office) is a must.
Typical working conditions and physical requirements
Work is primarily spent inside the clinic or in a community setting. May include a few outside events throughout the year.
Annual Increment and Benefits
There will be a Six (6) month probationary period. A 5% salary increment will be considered based on the performance of a passing review after the completion of the probation period.
The standard work week will consist of 37.50 hours per week. This employment is designated as Full-Time employment consisting of 26 bi-weekly pay periods, (1,950 hours per year). Benefits will be provided as defined for the Full Time Employee by the Department for Public Health Personnel Regulations 902 KAR Chapter 8 to include Retirement, Vacation, Sick, Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance and Life Insurance. The employee will be obligated to contribute a share for any of these benefits as defined by the Department for Public Health, Kentucky Retirement System, Kentucky Employer’s Health Plan, or any other governing entity. Other benefits granted by the Greenup County Board of Health may be offered at the discretion of the Director/Appointing Authority. Holidays will include the same holidays made available to merit system employees which are currently:

Good Friday (half day)
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Veterans Day
Thanksgiving Day and one additional day
Christmas and one additional day
Minimum Education, Training or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, Community Health, Accounting, Human Resource Management, Computer Science or related degree and two (2) years in administrative activities such as fiscal and budgeting activities, personnel and planning or closely related activities
OR
High School diploma or GED and Seven (7) years of experience in personnel activities, fiscal and budgeting activities, office management or closely related activities.
Substitution for Education, Training or Experience: Education in the subjects listed above will substitute for the experience on a year for year basis not to exceed five (5) years.
Starting Salary: 25.00/hr.

The Greenup County Health Department is accepting applications for a Full-Time Contract Licensed Practical Nurse – Immunizations & WIC.
General Duties include: The work involves basic nursing functions and services to individuals and families under direct supervision in a clinic, school, or community setting. Core duties will revolve around Woman, Infant, Children (WIC) program, Vaccinations, and occasional off-site clinics as assigned, but not limited to these tasks. Assess clients to address the presenting initial reason for the visit and client’s willingness to the services. Conduct basic nursing assessment, as appropriate, to obtain and document relevant physical, social, behavioral, environmental, and lifestyle factors that influence health. Attain basic specimens, as directed. Record all findings and results in our electronic medical records system (ezEMRx). Describe all available services offered and refer as appropriate. Incorporate plan of care into the client’s medical record and periodically update based on follow-up visits and services provided. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education, Training or Experience: Graduate from a school of practical nursing, college, or community and/or technical college, which meet the requirement set by Kentucky State Law.
Special Requirements: (Age, Licensure, Regulation, Etc.) Must have current and active Kentucky Practical Nurse License or must have met all requirements of KRS 314.051, having received a provisional license and approval to practice as an LPNA.
Starting Salary: $18.00/hr.
